One year in the tin can!!! It’s my Airstream Anniversary.

I cannot believe that I forgot to post this four days ago! October 12th was officially my one year anniversary in the Airstream. The year has flown by. Not once have I regretted the decision to make this change. The tin can feels more like home than many places I have lived, and the best part is she can go with me if and when I decide to move. I’m not going to bore you with a recant of the many things I’ve learned so far over the year, or even the projects accomplished or still on the to-do list. Past blog posts over the year can tell you about those things. What I will say is this: If you are on the edge of a decision, wanting to simplify and downsize-but worried you will regret it, go for it. Our lives should be about so much more than acquiring things. I find it difficult to put into words how much lighter I feel having let go of so much stuff and the conventional ideas of what I should be doing at this point in my life. Don’t believe that you must have a traditional brick and mortar house to have a home. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with having that type of home. Nowhere is it written in stone I never will again. I’m only saying don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Any home is what you make of it. I think a home is more about how comfortable you feel in whatever type dwelling you have and with the life you are living. This year in the tin can has been a learning process and adventure in a number of ways. Thanks to those of you who have been following me on this journey, and welcome to those who have just arrived. No worries, this year was only the first of hopefully many more to come. (There are still too many tin can projects to accomplish. Maybe I will actually get that polish job finished before the next year is done. Hahaha!)

Here are a few shots of my home over our past year together:

The easy part of the move complete. Parked but so much left to be done!
