Two in One Day…

By July 25, 2010 February 20th, 2015 Birds & Wildlife, Two Rivers

Oh my…two posts in one day. I don’t know what has come over me. Seriously, I had to share the photos taken with my phone earlier this evening when I ventured out in the dreadful heat for a walk/run. The deer were out in full force. The park service people were cutting and baling hay earlier today so it must have brought the deer out in the open more than usual. I’ve seen several there before but nothing like this.

Notice in these pictures that the deer who started out in the background goes around the other one and actually comes toward me instead of running away.  At first it stayed back behind the little tree.
Still somewhat behind the tree…
The deer from the back now goes around the other one and comes toward me.
Then it comes closer.
and closer still…
I was actually the one who moved away instead of the deer. I swear it would have eaten from my hand if I’d had anything to offer. It wasn’t scared of me at all and seemed only very curious about me and my camera/phone. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. Will it not be marvelous when we and animals of all sorts can dwell together with neither in fear of the other?
